Recovered historical report
The confederate army arrived and was shocked to find a trench. They camped outside for nearly a month. The Muslims were under constant threat of arrows. Then the worst news came: Banu Qurayzah, the last Jewish tribe in Madinah, broke their treaty and sided with the enemy. The Muslims were now surrounded. The Prophet ﷺ sent Sa‘d bin Mu‘adh and Sa‘d bin ‘Ubadah to confirm. They returned with the terrible confirmation. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Allahu Akbar. Receive glad tidings, O Muslims.” The Muslims’ backs were against the mountain, their front against the trench, and their rear now threatened by traitors.
