The next morning, the Prophet ﷺ announced that the Muslims should pursue the Quraish. Despite their injuries, they obeyed. The Quraish had reached a place called al-Rawha’ and were discussing returning to finish off the Muslims. But they heard that the Muslims were following, and they feared the Muslims had received reinforcements. Abu Sufyan, the Quraishi leader, decided to retreat. The Muslims returned safely. Allah revealed: “Those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them – for those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward.”
