Recovered historical report
The night before the battle, Allah sent heavy rain. For the Muslims, it dampened the sand and made it firm. For the Quraish, it made the ground muddy and difficult. The Muslims slept soundly, a sign of inner peace. The Prophet ﷺ spent the night in prayer, weeping and begging Allah for victory. He said, “O Allah, if this small band perishes, You will not be worshipped on earth.” Allah responded: “I will reinforce you with a thousand angels.” The angels descended, led by Jibril on a horse.
