Recovered historical report
The Prophet ﷺ drafted a constitution governing the diverse communities of Madinah: Muslims (Muhajirun and Ansar), Jews, and polytheistic Arabs. It declared that all were one nation (ummah), that each group would keep its religion, that they would defend Madinah together, and that any dispute would be referred to Allah and His Messenger. The Jews had religious freedom but were required to support the state and not conspire with enemies.
