Recovered historical report
After three days, the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr left the cave with a guide, ‘Abdullah bin Uraiqit. The Quraish offered a reward of 100 camels for their capture. Suraqah bin Malik, a Bedouin, saw them and pursued. Three times his horse sank into the sand, and he saw a cloud of dust in front of him. He realised this was a sign and asked the Prophet ﷺ for protection. The Prophet ﷺ granted it and wrote him a document. Suraqah returned and misled other pursuers.
