Recovered historical report
Shortly after the boycott ended, Abu Talib, the Prophet’s uncle and protector, died. He had supported the Prophet for over 40 years, but he died without accepting Islam. The Prophet ﷺ was devastated. Two months later, Khadijah, his beloved wife and the first believer, also died. This year was called “The Year of Sorrow.” The Prophet ﷺ lost his protector and his supporter in the same year. The Quraish increased their harm, knowing Abu Talib was gone.
