Recovered historical report

When Quraish saw that the Muslims were growing despite persecution, they agreed to a complete boycott of Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib (the Prophet’s clans). No trade, no marriage, no food – nothing. They were confined to a narrow valley (Shi‘b Abi Talib) for three years. They suffered extreme hunger, eating leaves and even leather. The only food that reached them was smuggled. After three years, some fair-minded Quraish (Hisham bin ‘Amr, Zuhair bin Abi Umayyah, and others) tore down the boycott document, which had been miraculously eaten by termites except for the words “Bismik Allahumma” (In Your name, O Allah).

This is a recovered working report. Quran/hadith/quotation/date/detail inside it is not automatically authenticated or a final scholarly conclusion.

03

meUus working lesson

Oppression does not last forever. Allah sends relief. The boycott seemed permanent, but Allah destroyed it.

A lesson is not the same as historical fact or a religious ruling.

04

Reflection / For Today

If you are in a difficult situation, know that Allah’s help is near. He split the document; He can split your hardship.

05

Deeper revisit — recovered working copy

Reminder: The boycotters included the Prophet’s own relatives who were not Muslim. They suffered too.

Revisit context: Your trials may affect even those around you who are not practicing. Be patient.

Working reflection: The termites were soldiers of Allah. Never underestimate small helpers.

Working practical step: If you know someone under a boycott (personal or economic), reach out to help.

Journey reflection: The document was eaten except for Allah’s name. What remains when everything else is gone? Allah.
