Recovered historical report
Allah commanded the Prophet ﷺ: “And warn your closest kindred.” The Prophet climbed Mount Safa and called out, “Wā Subāhā!” (an alarm cry). The Quraish gathered. He asked, “If I told you an army was behind this mountain, would you believe me?” They said, “Yes, we have never known you to lie.” He said, “Then I warn you of a severe punishment.” Abu Lahab responded, “May you perish! Is this why you gathered us?” Allah then revealed Surah Al-Masad condemning Abu Lahab and his wife.

meUus working lesson
The Prophet delivered the message plainly, without sugar-coating. Truth is not always comfortable. Speak it with courage.
A lesson is not the same as historical fact or a religious ruling.
Reflection / For Today
If you need to speak a difficult truth to someone, do it with kindness but without compromise.
Deeper revisit — recovered working copy
Reminder: Abu Lahab was the Prophet’s own uncle. Family opposition is real.
Revisit context: Your closest relatives may reject your faith. You are in prophetic company.
Working reflection: The warning is for everyone, including family. Do not exclude them out of politeness.
Working practical step: Make a list of relatives who are not practicing. Make du‘a for each by name.
Journey reflection: Abu Lahab’s wealth did not save him. Your wealth won’t save you either – only your deeds.
