Recovered historical report
The Prophet ﷺ initially preached secretly, inviting only his closest family and friends. The first to believe was Khadijah. The first free man was Abu Bakr as-Siddiq. The first child was ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (raised in the Prophet’s house). The first slave was Zayd bin Harithah. Abu Bakr, being influential, brought many others including ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan, Zubair bin al-‘Awwam, Sa‘d bin Abi Waqqas, and ‘Abdur Rahman bin ‘Awf. For three years, Islam grew quietly.
