Recovered historical report
As a young man, the Prophet ﷺ worked as a shepherd, his first profession. He later said, “Allah has not sent a Prophet who was not a shepherd.” The Companions asked, “And you?” He said, “Yes, I used to herd sheep for the people of Makkah.” He also had a natural aversion to idol worship. He would never attend the parties of the Quraish, and when he tried, Allah would put him to sleep. He told his servant Zayd, “Do not touch the idols.” He never made sujud to an idol in his life.
