Recovered historical report

After Hunayn, the defeated tribes fled to the fortified city of Ta’if. The Prophet ﷺ marched with the army and besieged the city. Ta’if was surrounded by high walls. The Muslims used a catapult for the first time in Islamic history. The enemy shot arrows and poured molten iron on the attackers. The siege lasted nearly a month. The Prophet ﷺ offered safety to any slave who came down; several did, including Abu Bakrah, who became a Companion. The Prophet ﷺ then lifted the siege and left. He predicted that Ta’if would eventually surrender. Later that year, a delegation from Thaqif came to Madinah and accepted Islam.

03

meUus working lesson

Not every battle ends in immediate victory. The Prophet ﷺ was patient, left when the siege was not working, and trusted Allah for the future.

A lesson is not the same as historical fact or a religious ruling.

04

Reflection / For Today

If a project or struggle is not succeeding, it is okay to pause, regroup, and wait for a better opportunity.

05

Deeper revisit — recovered working copy

Reminder: The Prophet ﷺ offered freedom to slaves who surrendered. His mercy reached even the enemy’s servants.

Revisit context: The siege was hard, but the Muslims did not give up. Patience is part of jihad.

Working reflection: The Prophet ﷺ made du‘a against Thaqif, then later made du‘a for them. He never held a grudge.

Working practical step: If you have an enemy or someone who opposes you, make du‘a for their guidance today.

Journey reflection: Ta’if eventually became Muslim. Your “enemies” today may be your brothers tomorrow.
