Recovered historical report
The Jewish tribe of Banu Qaynuqa‘ lived in Madinah. They were arrogant and mocked the Muslims after Badr. A Muslim woman was humiliated by a Jewish goldsmith. A Muslim killed him, and the Jews killed the Muslim. This violated the covenant. The Prophet ﷺ besieged them for 15 days. They surrendered. ‘Abdullah bin Ubayy, the hypocrite leader, pleaded for his allies. The Prophet ﷺ spared their lives but expelled them from Madinah. They left to Syria.
