Run a small learning experiment

The recovered manual repeatedly frames the learner as an experimenter. DEPTH-01 keeps that spirit but adds research discipline: test one bounded method change, record evidence and limitations, and do not universalize a personal result.

Ask one practical question

Examples: Does retrieval-first review help me notice gaps better than rereading first? Does a quieter environment reduce task switching for this work? Does immediate feedback reduce repeated errors in this problem type? Keep the question small enough to observe.

Record a baseline

Write what you normally do and what evidence you currently have. Without a baseline, it is easy to remember only the result you hoped for.

Change one meaningful variable where practical

A clean personal experiment is easier to interpret when you do not change everything at once. Keep the task and conditions reasonably comparable where possible, but do not pretend a personal self-test is a controlled scientific study.

Record result and limitation together

A result is stronger when its limitation sits beside it: small sample, different difficulty, mood/fatigue, outside help, short follow-up, subjective judgment, or measurement uncertainty. The limitation does not make the experiment useless; it keeps the conclusion proportional.

Decide: keep, modify, stop, or test again

A method does not need loyalty. Keep it when evidence is useful and cost is acceptable; modify it when the signal is mixed; stop it when it adds burden without value; test again when uncertainty remains and the question matters.
