Recovered historical report

The Muslim army of 10,000 marched to Makkah. Abu Sufyan, who had come to negotiate, was captured. Al-‘Abbas, the Prophet’s uncle, brought him to the Prophet, who said, “Is it not time for you to know that there is no god but Allah?” Abu Sufyan accepted Islam. The Prophet ﷺ then declared, “Whoever enters Abu Sufyan’s house is safe. Whoever enters his own house and locks the door is safe. Whoever enters the Haram is safe.” The army entered Makkah without bloodshed, except for a small skirmish at one gate. The Prophet ﷺ entered the Haram, bowed his head so low it almost touched his camel, and recited Surah al-Fath.

03

meUus working lesson

The Prophet ﷺ forgave his enemies. He could have executed them all, but he declared general amnesty. This is the mercy of Islam.

A lesson is not the same as historical fact or a religious ruling.

04

Reflection / For Today

If you have the power to harm those who wronged you, forgive them instead. That is the sunnah.

05

Deeper revisit — recovered working copy

Reminder: The Prophet ﷺ said to the Quraish, “What do you think I will do to you?” They said, “You are a noble brother, son of a noble brother.” He said, “Go, you are free.”

Revisit context: This was the greatest act of forgiveness in history.

Working reflection: The idols around the Ka‘bah were destroyed. The Prophet ﷺ pointed to them with a stick, and they fell.

Working practical step: Forgive someone who has wronged you today, even if they have not apologised.

Journey reflection: Makkah was conquered with mercy. Your heart can be conquered by the same mercy.
